For Summer 2024 courses please register your children for the grade level they will be entering in September of 2024

ALL COURSE DROPS ARE SUBJECT TO A $10 PROCESSING FEE PER COURSE.

  • Smithtown Student Robotics Volunteer

    SCOPE often seeks the help of teens ages 16 and older to be volunteer counselors in training at our summer enrichment programs. Please register here online to be considered for a volunteer counselor position at a local SCOPE Summer enrichment program. SCOPE only accepts applicants that are 16 years and older at the time of the volunteering. You MUST be a student in the district and commit to all days per week for the week in which you are signing up for. By registering on SCOPE’s website, you are submitting interest. You must complete this additional paper volunteer application and come to a mandatory in person orientation at a date to be decided and communicated by the SCOPE Site-Director for this district at a later time through email. The link for the paper application is below, please print and complete this form. Please enter a PERSONAL email address so we may communicate with you and your child. When completing the volunteer application please list your guidance counselor as one of your references on the application. You will bring this application to the mandatory orientations prior to the start of the program. We rely on the help of the HS counselors, so please apply for weeks in which you know you can commit. Space is limited, first-come first served please register ASAP. NO registrations or applications will be permitted after June 1, 2024.   • Smithtown Summer Robotics

    Incoming Grades 6th and 7th: Discover, Explore and Compete in a First LEGO League Challenge! First Lego League will enhance coding skills as well as robotic engineering and design through hands on STEM learning opportunities. The program is geared towards strengthening real-world problem solving skills. Students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting robotics competition. The class culminates with a competition where teams have their robots compete in a series of challenging tasks in a limited time. Incoming Grades 8th and 9th: This class is designed for students interested and eager to learn about the Smithtown Robotics Program. It will allow students to become familiar with the robotic engineering process while strengthening the foundational skills necessary for future robotics and coding experiences. Students will use VEX and LEGO Spike robotics programs to design, build, and test robots for specific tasks. It will enhance coding skills as well as robotic engineering and design through hands-on STEM learning opportunities. Students show off their skills in a culminating robotics competition where teams have their robots complete a series of real-world challenges.
