By examining lifestyle choices and behaviors, we’ll highlight their crucial role in longevity and overall health. Participants will explore key topics such as what are lifestyle diseases, including but not limited to diabetes, heart disease, cancer, obesity, high blood pressure, unhealthy diets, lack of exercise, and the critical role of sleep in maintaining health. You will also delve into the concept of Blue Zones-regions where people live significantly longer, healthier lives-and discuss how these insights can inform teaching practices. This course provides practical strategies and pedagogical approaches for creating inclusive and culturally responsive classrooms, fostering an environment where all students feel valued, respected and supported. You will engage in discussions, and participate in experiential activities, enhance their cultural awareness, develop intercultural communication skills, and learn to integrate culturally relevant content in their curriculum.
