  • Huntington Summer Instrumental Music & Fine Art Exploration

This NEW program is a great way for instrumentalists to spend a week developing their playing skills both individually and in an ensemble! In addition, students will explore their creative artistic skills with our musically themed art program! This new three-hour program is a great way for music lovers to participate in both fine and performing arts. Art work may include sculpting instruments and creating art-work based on listening excerpts. Students entering grades 4 (or are switching to a new instrument in another grade/in the very early stages of learning an instrument) will spend time with the Beginner Ensemble* where they will concentrate on learning to play their instruments, read music, play in unison and get a great head start on their instrument for the fall! Students who have been playing their instruments for at least one year, and are able to comfortably read and play music, will work with the Advanced Ensemble* where they will play solos and work on band and/or orchestra music in small and larger ensembles. * Students will be assigned the appropriate level ensemble by their instrumental music teacher. While 4th grade instrument assignments may not be received until early-June, students can sign up for this course and register with their "first choice" of instrument. Once instrument assignments are made, we will place students in the appropriate section.
